The daughter of a concert pianist who played with Liberace and a broadcast engineer who worked at Lockheed Martin, Natalie Nicole melded creative and tech sensibilities to create her own home studio in 2005. At the time Natalie Nicole had already been working as a radio host after exiting college, and built the studio both to record her own music and to continue recording voiceovers for commercials. Her voice can be heard on spots for Cadillac, McDonald’s, and many international brands.
Following in her mother’s musical footsteps, NNG began songwriting and tinkering on the piano at the tender age of 4. She picked up the guitar in her teens, first practicing on her brother’s electric, and began playing solo concerts at 19. She also gleaned a wealth of music knowledge from performing regularly with her mother and sister at weddings and events, singing love songs and pop hits in three-part harmony. Whether it was classical music and showtunes from her mother or rock and pop from her brother and sister, there was a vast musical heritage flooding NNG’s cassette playlists.
Natalie Nicole was also a Dance and Theatre major at Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville, and was a company member of Walden Theatre for many years in her teens. Her triple threat abilities to blend movement with musical emotion and storytelling bleed throughout her music.
Natalie Nicole Gilbert’s music has landed her on the GRAMMY ballot four times in the last three years. This music phenom is one to certainly stay in tune with.
