Reign, formerly known as FaithJ is known for leaving the audience asking for more when hitting the stage in Nashville local venues. After spending the beginning of her career proving she can rise from a hopeful college student to a talented female rapper, she is surely ready to give more to her career that she was destined for.
Hailing from Aiken, South Carolina, Reign is breaking on to the music scene in Middle Tennessee with her powerful messages, positive lyrics and undeniable talent. Born on March 2, 1989, Reign showed promise even as a young child growing up. The daughter of a gospel singer/pianist, Reign was born with music flowing through her veins. While she’s lived in Tennessee for nearly a decade (attending the Baylor Boarding School in Chattanooga during high school) Reign didn’t realize there was talent living within her until around 2010. She sites Tupac, Jay Z, Lauryn Hill and J Cole as just some of her musical influences and says that rap music brought out some of the best artists in the 1990s. This respect and love for the classics is evident on her first mix tape In the Mix with FaithJ-Volume I: Taking Music Back to the Future. Her versatility and combination of modern and old school hip hop brings life into the genre.
Besides being an artist, Reign is also an active member of the National Songwriters Association at MTSU. After two years, two Mixtapes, In the Mix with FaithJ Vol. I&II, hosting a successful radio show, In the Mix with FaithJ on 88.3 FM radio Reign put all her focus and learned skills into her first EP, titled FaithJ Loaded Lyrics from my Soul Part I. Reign promises to keep her roots of loving old school Hip Hop and R&B and looking forward to showing her fans her growth as an artist. She has recently released her self entitled EP entitled REIGN.
