Original Docu-Drama Delivers Double-Digit Gains in Total Viewers and Persons 18-34 and Ranks among the Top 10 Cable Networks in Persons 18-34 in Its Time Period
New York, NY – March 3, 2015 – Fuse (www.fuse.tv), the national television network dedicated to music, today announced that the third season premiere of its half-hour docu-series, Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, ranked as the #1 season premiere of all time for the network. The season three premiere broke its own ratings records delivering 300,000 Total Viewers and posting double-digit gains among Total Viewer delivery (+41 percent), P18-34 delivery (+23 percent) and Household ratings (+38%) compared to its second season premiere – based on Nielsen Live+3 for the season premiere that aired February 25 at 11 p.m. ET/10 p.m. CT on Fuse.
Season three record breaking premiere continues the stellar ratings growth and follows the record-breaking season two premiere for the series. Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce premiered its second season on June 11, 2014 and more than tripled viewership among P18-34 viewers (+223 percent) while growing its audience among Total Viewers (+68 percent), compared with the October 2, 2013 season one premiere. Winner of the 2014 GLAAD Media Award and nominated for 2015 GLAAD Media Award, Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce gives an unfiltered, all access look into the professional and personal journey of the New Orleans native. Season 3, finds Big Freedia setting off on his biggest tour yet, and each stop brings a new challenge. After dealing with the loss of his mother and working his way to the top, Freedia must translate his newfound fame into a successful career at the same time his personal life is heading towards uncharted territory. The queen diva, who has twerked his way into viewers’ hearts, has established himself as the mainstream Queen of Bounce. More fame means more drama and Freedia’s heart is on the line as the road takes a toll on him emotionally and physically.
Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce is executive produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Chris McKim and Tom Campbell of World of Wonder (RuPaul’s Drag Race, Million Dollar Listing, Life with La Toya). A memoir entitled “Big Freedia: God Save The Queen Diva!” is set for release July 7 and the artist begins a new slate of U.S. and international tour dates beginning March 6 in San Francisco and ending May 2 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
