The Home Depot Backyard to Host Fitness on the Field powered by Actively Black at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on January 6 and 7

The Home Depot Backyard (HDBY) will kick-off its 2025 health and wellness programming with Fitness on the Field powered by Actively Black at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday, January 6 and Tuesday, January 7.

This year’s event will feature a new partnership with Actively Black, who will serve as presenting partner for Fitness on the Field through 2026.

“We are thrilled to partner with Actively Black, a brand that shares our dedication to promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and community. This partnership reflects our shared mission to inspire and uplift people of all backgrounds through health and wellness, and we’re excited to showcase this unique collaboration during one of our signature events, Fitness on the Field,” states Erika Arms, Director of The Home Depot Backyard

“As a former D1 basketball player, daily exercise has always been key to maintaining both my physical and mental well-being,” says Bianca Winslow, co-founder of Actively Black. “Black communities are disproportionately affected by preventable health issues tied to nutrition and physical activity—issues that stem from the lack of access to healthy food, safe green spaces, and athletic programs. At Actively Black, our mission goes beyond raising awareness; we are committed to actively empowering our communities by creating opportunities and providing resources that drive real change. Atlanta is one of our biggest markets and home to some of our most loyal supporters, so partnering with The Home Depot Backyard to kick off 2025 with Fitness on the Field is a significant step toward our shared goal of building healthier, stronger Black communities globally.”

The always popular health and wellness program, which takes place on the field inside of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, will feature a total of six sessions across two days that showcases some of Atlanta’s top health and wellness experts.

The three sessions on Monday, January 6 will feature Enervibes Dance Fit from 6:00-6:45 p.m. led by Taneisha ‘Tani’ GordonTrap Boxing led by Starr Boxing from 7:00-7:45 p.m., and Maxx Out Fitness led by Darrell “DP” Patterson from 8:00-8:45 p.m. to close out the evening.

Tuesday, January 7 will be highlighted by a trio of 45-minute sessions, including Body Blast led by DJ Bostick from 6:00-6:45 p.m. followed by Royal Physique Bootcamp from 7:00-7:45 p.m. and Hip-Hop Yoga from 8:00-8:45 p.m. led by HDBY veteran instructors Lah King and Jaimee Ratliff, respectively.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is now available HERE, but space is limited. Those in attendance must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

Established in 2020, Fitness on the Field provides a unique opportunity for thousands of fitness enthusiasts to receive expert coaching from some of the region’s top health and wellness instructors on the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home to the National Football League’s Atlanta Falcons and Major League Soccer’s Atlanta United. The 2024 edition saw more than 10,000 registrants across the two-day event.
