Following the launch of PRIDE Month at the Brooklyn Museum on 6/1 with an exclusive set, performing new songs from her upcoming EP “Visions” in front of energized fans, queer activist and musician Kiran Gandhi (Madame Gandhi) will return to New York later this month for PRIDE from June 27-30.
Madame Gandhi will be part of the Where to Now? panel on Friday, June 28 from 7-8pm to talk about LGBTQIA+ acceptance and cultural change within activism, art, and technology. The conversation will be moderated by POSE FX’s Angelica Ross and feature the voices of D. Smith, Kat Cunning, Zeke Thomas, and Madame Gandhi. This event is open to the public with donation and RSVP.
On Saturday, June 29, NYC Pride’s Teaze, an inclusive LGBTQIA+ party, Madame Gandhi will be performing a high-energy DJ set at The DL in the East Village, filled with percussion and drum medleys that will benefit a wide array of PRIDE-affiliated organizations and related gatherings throughout the weekend. Various organizations will also be joining the party, including bklyn boihood, TRUUU, Set If Off, Rose Gold, and Yellow Jackets Collective, all instrumental in offering free, safe and creative spaces for the trans and queer community.
Kiran was recently included in Forbes’ 30 under 30 and Vogue’s “34 Stars Who Continue to Shine on a Global Stage” and sat down with Lior Phillips from COS’s “This Must Be The Gig” podcast at Moogfest a few weeks back – listen to that thoughtful, smart, and hilarious conversation HERE.
