I have a special treat for you all coming soon…. In the meantime, say Hello to Terrence Clemens
Civil Rights Leader Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Faith is taking the first step, even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” Terrence Lamar Clemens is an acclaimed athlete, scholar, lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender advocate, and community builder. He was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, attended Artesia High School, Crenshaw High School, LA Jordan High School and graduated in 2007. Following high school, he enrolled at Northeastern Oklahoma Community College where he obtained his Associates degree in General Studies. Clemens was raised in an economically impoverished neighborhood and was faced with the gang and drug lifestyle. As a kid in inner city Los Angeles his aspiration was to get out of his neighborhood, and further himself with a college education. Coming out as an openly gay male was hard for Clemens, because growing up he felt out of place, and isolated from everyone which is why he never shared his identity until reaching college. Basketball was his escape it drove him to feel at one with himself and forget the daily struggles he faced in his neighborhood. Clemens is a major advocate for the LGBTQ community because he wants to express to youth not to be afraid to express themselves, and encourage them to hold tight to their dreams.
