LEONA LEWIS RELEASES MUSIC VIDEO FOR NEW TRACK “THUNDER”

Leona Lewis debuted the music video for her new single “Thunder” off her forthcoming album I AM. I AM, Lewis’s fifth studio album and first on Def Jam Recordings, will be released September 11th and is available now for pre-order at all digital retailers. Pre-ordered versions of the album will include 5 exclusive IG tracks: “Fire Under My Feet,” “I Am,” “Thunder,” “Another Love Song,” and “Power.”

The video for “Thunder,” produced and directed by Sarah McColgan (Miguel, Aloe Blacc, Luke James), was shot in Los Angeles and embodies the song’s themes of navigating life’s highs and lows and as Lewis says, “…falling but always getting back up.”

On the single “Thunder,” Lewis declares, “I’m coming back with the thunder,” and there couldn’t be a more apropos metaphor for her latest body of work. Co-produced by hit­maker Toby Gad (credits: John Legend, One Direction, Beyoncé), I AM also features a collaboration with iconic Academy Award®-nominee and Grammy Award-winner Diane Warren. Lewis has shared with fans that she looked within and bared her soul on the confessional and very personal album which explores her own highs and lows over the past few years.

Lewis returns to the global stage with her highly anticipated new studio album as well as an inspiring message of empowerment, an issue which is very close to the artist’s heart. In June Lewis launched her own empowerment initiative – #IAMEMPOWERED – which invites fans to share personal stories, quotes, pictures or anything that they feel will inspire empowerment in others. This theme of empowerment pervades I AM, and Lewis’s ongoing initiative continues to engage and inspire fans worldwide.
