Jenny Shields started writing poetry at the tender age of seven, inspired by such artists as Queen Latifah Biggie Smalls and 2Pac just to name few. She set out not to just be a normal artist who can rap, but give her audience something of meaning. At sixteen she joined a local Chicago group by the named Psychodrama, which included others like Newsense and Dawreck who all were up and coming artists as well. She later recorded a song with Newsense called “infrared” by the name nite. But challenges, of being a young mother forced her to put music down for while. But soon she was right back in focus, releasing herself titled album “Five Avenues” going by the Name katharsis which sold an estimated 2,000 in the streets, her next album she opted to reinvent herself going by the name J-Ma releasing an album that was self-produced titled From “The Streets To The Expressway” that can be found on CDbaby.com. In 2012 J-Ma released Her first Mix tape “The Awaking Of The Sleeping Giant” hosted be her brother DJ Bryce, which done very well too! Currently she’s back in the lab working on her second Mix tape which has yet to be titled, but you already know she bout to hit you with that heat.
