Editor’s Review, ‘Uncle Buck’ on ABC

Shelled from the 1989 film, “Uncle Buck” ABC has given us a new series with Mike Epps, Nia Long and James Lesure as the lead characters. Naturally you know I had to tune in as Nia is one of my favorites and James gets finer the older he gets. I will be honest, I have never seen the film so I walked into viewing with a clear mind. After the short lived Uncle Buck series from 1990, we get to see how far this one goes.
With that said, Episode one, ‘Pilot’ was actually good. It was filled with humor and learning points. In my opinion it was a perfect blend.

  • Regina King popped up in Ep. 1 and as always she was amazing.
  • Nia Long looked awesome.
  • Mike Epps didn’t overdo it. It was just enough.
  • The styling is perfect.
  • The visual appeal is amazing.
  • The children are enjoyable and are new faces to me: Iman Benson, Aalyrah Caldwell, and Sayeed Shahidi showed up and showed out.  These youth seem to mesh perfectly and each have their unique flair with their character.

Overall, I give “Uncle Buck” 2016 a 10/10. There’s nothing I would suggest to be changed. I enjoyed each minute, and I love the positive comedy it is bringing to the spotlight.

Get ready as we see where this pilot season takes us.
