Aggy and Maggy (Milan and Miles) have sparked conversations across the country about Hip Hop’s acceptance of openly gay rappers. The appearance of Miles “Sir” Brock and Milan Christopher as the first gay couple on the show led to the network airing a special program titled LHH:Out In Hip Hop.

The T.J. Holmes-hosted program featured several LHHH stars like Miles, Milan, Ray J and Lil Fizz. Several LGBT performers including Big Freedia and Siya where part of the show as well.

Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels of the iconic rap group Run-D.M.C. was among the panelists. McDaniels also participated in a one-on-one video interview where he discussed homophobia in Hip Hop.

“You’re cool in Hip Hop being gay as long as you ain’t rapping. You can be the gay cameraman. You can be the gay make-up person. You can be the gay everything else, except being a gay rapper – which is crazy,” said the legendary emcee. “Hip Hop is crazy because they disrespect gay people, but they run around and wear all the stuff gay designers wear.”

This past Monday’s episode of Love & Hip Hop Hollywood became a trending topic on Twitter. The show featured Miles revealing to his high school sweetheart and his family that he is attracted to men.

“It’s cool that Love & Hip Hop is [addressing homophobia], but it’s not a Hip Hop issue,” D.M.C. added. “It’s a people issue.”
