Black Girls Rock the Gold Carpet for BET’s Black Girls Rock 2019

The Gold Carpet was on fire on Sunday as we celebrated and honored Black Women.  Black Girls from around the globe attended Black Girls Rock 2019 held at The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC).  This was a carpet like none other; as women who broke barriers filled the room with their style and grace.

Hosted by Actress and Comedian Niecy Nash, the pre-show carpet included some of the industry’s most influential women.  Ciara, Regina King, Angela Bassett, Monica, Remy Ma, Brandy, India Arie, and Issa Rae, were just a few of the many women who stunned the carpet.  Ciara looked gorgeous in her diamond silver gown, designed by Zuhair Murad (Spring/Summer 2019 collection).  Issa Rae skin looked radiant in her green gown, and we all know that auntie Erykah left our jaws dropped with her futuristic flower crown.  Badu’s gem crusted finger rings and array of watches on her wrist was not only unique and festive, but unforgettable.

The show honors Actress Angela Bassett this year for her contributions to the culture. The ceremony gets even better with performances by Monica, Robin S., Ari Lennox, Kiana Lede, and CeCe Peniston.  Canadian Model Winnie Harlow gave an amazing speech about Ciara before she accepted the Rock Star Award.  The night was just filled with good energy and amazing beauty.  Making it one of the most memorable award shows this year.
