SPECIAL PERFORMANCE BY AYO & TEO AND APPEARANCE BY NELLY, IGNITE URBAN® TOP 10 FINALISTS AND ATLANTA ASCENSION YOUTH ORCHESTRA
IGNITE URBAN®, the first online national music competition announces its live performance finals to be held at Center Stage in Atlanta, Tuesday, Dec. 19 7:00-10:00 PM/ET.
The top 10 IGNITE URBAN® finalists and the 30-member, Atlanta Ascension Youth Orchestra conducted by James Anderson. Opening the show will be “Climate Change”, a group comprised of top performing & recording artists, including Walter “Spicy” Bland, who is the IGNITE URBAN® Music Director. Top music industry judges, J Erving, Kwan “KP” Prather, and Dina Marto will select the national winner to receive a single recording contract. Fans will enjoy a special solo performance from Normani Kordei of 5th Harmony, and appearances from Nelly, IGNITE URBAN®’s Ambassador, and other celebrity artists.
Fully-integrated across social media platforms, the 2017 IGNITE URBAN® Challenge Competition issued a range of skill-based challenges to competing artists to identify and nurture exceptional talent. Each represents a skill needed in today’s recording and publishing industry. Throughout the 6-month competition, IGNITE URBAN® artists received professional insight from top singers, songwriters and producers including Darryl Simmons, Kris Kelli, Midnight Star, Dwayne Wiggins, and Bennie Man. The final challenge had the the top 10 travel to Los Angeles to produce a music video using an original song in collaboration with students of Chapman University, Dodge College of Film and Media Arts.
The final top 10 were selected from over 1,000 contestants.
