MEGALMODAS,  the mash up of industrial, Electronica and Goth Rock/Post Wave

If you took Depeche Mode, Yazz, Ministry (post DM sound) with some Nitzer Eb added in you get MEGALMODAS,  the mash up of industrial, Electronica and Goth Rock/Post Wave styles is reminiscent of the late 80’s Early 90’s music. The Music is an  aggressive edged retro vibed instrumental with echoing lyrical additions encompass each track put out by this German based artist. A sound that is a union of KrautRock and Electronic Body Music, something that isn’t the usual lick that is so commonly heard now.

Put best by MEGALMODAS his “inspiration behind the music ” – My first big music love was Depeche Mode and I always wanted to merge “traditionell” hand made music with electronic instruments. Like Ministry, Rammstein and KMFDM are doing. But I’m also more a “softy” and like Pop Music (I’m a child of the 80’s …), so my music usually never gets that hard, even though I venture sometimes into the industrial Metal Realm, it is mostly (Gothic) Rock and Darkwave.

For me this is so liberating, after playing for over 25+ years bass guitar and singing in “traditionell” Punk, Pop, Hard-Rock and Metal Bands, to finally make the music I want to do.

The start of this whole thing was rather sad though. As I could not find any people who wanted to play with me this kind of music, I started all by myself and needed to sit down for a few years to learn how electronic music is made, as I only knew how to play “real” instruments (bass guitar/guitar/drums). This took me a few years, and you can hear in my early releases my struggle with it …

Two years ago I finally found someone, “Bionel” who shares my vision and we started to rehearse together to get the music out of the rehearsal space. Bionel (aka Nele) plays the violin, the synth, the theremin and also sings. She is quite an addition and we had 4 gigs so far this year, even on a small festival  The response has been thus far very positive. After playing for years my music just to myself I really had no idea anymore how people would react …

It is a bit aided by our “Showmanship” as I love the stage and have been in movies, TV Shows and a few music videos. Here are just a few quite different ones, where I play a small role (I’m mostly the villain as I can look quite imposing if I want to …)
