Morris Chestnut joined The DL Hughley Show last week and shared his thoughts and legacy of John Singleton. The cult classic film Boyz in the Hood, which earned Singleton an Oscar nod for Best Director, created a new genre of black cinema. Chestnut paid homage to the director for helping to launch his career and introducing audiences to young, legendary actors like Ice Cube, Nia Long and Cuba Gooding Jr. that are still relevant in Hollywood. The film was released in 1991, and in recent years, the cast and creative team celebrated its 25th year anniversary.
