Saturday, July 9, at 2pm, Actress and American Idol Vocalist LaToya London wed Fitness Guru/CEO of Body by Design Carlos Moffett. The intimate and family filled ceremony took place at a small beautifully decorated chapel located in the southern riverfront city of Columbus, Georgia.

This signature wedding boasted an intimate party of 16 friends and family. Several notable members including Singer/model/actress (featured on Tyler Perry’s “If loving you is wrong”/of TV One’s R&B Divas: LA and of R&B group ‘City High’ Claudette Ortiz, Actor and retired NFL player (Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles, and New York Giants) Dorsey Levins, and Singer/Tyler Perry Actor’s Maurice Lauchner, Tony Hightower, and David Stewart along with the bride and grooms siblings, friends, and family were there to witness this memorable grand occasion.

The groomsmen wore polished charcoal designer suits, BLACK by Vera Wang—a wedding collection by the world renown couture designer, accented with canary yellow bowties, a custom yellow rose boutonniere adorned their tuxedo jackets, and topped it all off with charcoal grey low-top Converse Chuck Taylors. The groom wore a white Italian designer Pronto Uomo two-button satin edge peak lapel tuxedo, with a canary yellow vest, custom silver and canary yellow tie and handkerchief, a custom yellow rose boutonniere, and topped it all off with white low-top Converse Chuck Taylors.

The bridesmaid and matron of honor all wore custom canary yellow one-shoulder dresses made by Evelyn Johnson (Oakland, California) and all were carrying single Calla Lilies. Their hair was pulled back into a soft natural bun. The bride wore an Alfred Angelo white designer floral accented wedding gown from Gesinee’s Bridal in Concord, California. The modern design of this signature bridal dress was sophisticated, with a draped satin body and finished with a chapel train. Gown features included satin and organza, pearls and crystal beading, draped bodice with lace-up back, low dropped waist with off-center beaded floral accents, a full length fit and flare silhouette, and was pure white. The brides hair was a soft natural pin up and her makeup “was done to be a clean, smokey eye; a classic look not too dramatic”, stated by Key Celebrity Makeup Artist Mi Couture.

The bridal party hair was done by Key Hairstylist Tenisha Fordham of Fordham Hair Care Company (based out of Atlanta, GA & Leland, MS), makeup was completed by Key Celebrity Make-Up Artist MiMi Couture and assisted by MUA Cookie Holt of Cookie Face Make-up with all cosmetic products sponsored by ColourU Cosmetics. The bridal party and mothers of the bride and groom received special manicurist attention by CND instructor and Key anicurist Lisa Paige-Weston (Birmingham, Alabama).

The southern ceremony took place inside of a small beautifully decorated chapel. The décor would be described as a simplistic affair yet with a modern touch of Grecian columns topped with wild ferns and white silhouette dripping birds. The groom, minister, and best man walked down the aisle to hit song “Matrimony” by hip-hop artist Wale and Usher. The bridal party proceeded in with the acapella rendition of ‘Ribbon in the Sky’ sung by Boyz II Men. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father Cedric McCauley to the moving ‘Power of Love’ by Celine Dion. The couple sealed the ceremony with an old African tradition of ‘Jumping the Broom’ which is a proverbial symbol of sweeping away the old and welcoming the new, and also a symbol of new beginnings.

The wedding boasted two receptions. The first reception (hosted by the grooms mother Ernestine Moffett) was held immediately following the wedding in the chapels reception hall (which was decorated in lilies, glass décor, and candles) where guests savored on Brown sugar barbecue meat balls, Southern Sweet and Spicy meat balls, Greek Olive Pasta Salad, Southern Fruit Salad, and a signature punch prepared by Cook Asunta Tolliver of Tolliver and Company. The second reception, held in the Grand Ballroom at The Courtyard Marriott, was warmly decorated with canary yellow and silver floral arrangements and décor. Guest were greeted with a 3 course meal; to start with a Southern Garden Salad and entrée consisted of choice of slow roasted chicken or baked flounder served with creamy herb mashed potatoes and lemon green bean bundles with cornbread muffins or sweet baked rolls. Guest was also served freshly made southern sweet tea and champagne with an open bar.

With all the intimate details that were made to culminate this wondrous and memorable event, the bride and groom wishes to send a heartfelt thank you, to everyone that was involved in any manner with their wedding.
