Temptress Kendra Erika Seduces the Dancefloor

Kendra Erika returns to the dance floor this month with “Temptation,” an electronic club single about falling under the spell of a dangerous affair. It follows “A Deeper Love,” her passion-infused track from this summer that landed in the Top Ten on the Billboard dance chart. “With Temptation, I’m taking a breather from my typical deeper-meaning songs that explore the world’s potential,” explains Kendra Erika from her Boca Raton home. “Temptation is a very intimate song that delves into my own experience with defining love and lust.”

“There’s always that one person you unexpectedly meet that becomes a resident haunt in your mind,” she reflects. “It’s almost like they set a spirit to watch over you. Very much like a Phantom of the Opera dynamic. It can feel very ominous.”

The song’s music video depicts Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Filmed at Switzer Falls and Joshua Tree National Park in California, Kendra Erika plays Eve who is tempted by a serpent in a tree. Adam is played by Mickael De Sinno. “As far as forbidden fruit, I have had my share of rotten apples,” Kendra Erika laughs. “To be fair, there have been some that were good through and through. Others had bruises on the outside but were pretty sweet as long as I bit around the dark parts. The worst were the apples that looked delicious on the outside, but were filled with bruises inside. They left a lingering harsh and valuable lesson!”

“Temptation” is produced by Damon Sharpe, who also produced “A Deeper Love.” In fact, the song is their sixth collaboration; four of which made it into the Top 10 on the Billboard Dance Charts. “Self Control,” their remake of the Laura Branigan classic, reached the #1 spot in January 2019.

In addition to his work with Kendra Erika, Damon Sharpe has produced for several major pop artists including Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Kylie Minogue, Kelly Rowland, Monica, 98 Degrees, Anastacia, and Natalie Cole.

Kendra Erika tours the world performing her hits at major national and international dance clubs. She was trained in classical and jazz music, but draws inspiration from artists like Lana Del Rey, Solange, Ellie Goulding, and London Grammar; often employing bold and poetic messages to her club beats.

“If there is anything that I hope listeners take from ‘Temptation’ is the message that simply because someone is dancing circles in your brain, that doesn’t mean you need to surrender to them physically. Lust is not the same thing as love.”

“Temptation” is available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, and all other major retailers as well as for streaming through Pandora and Spotify. Visit KendraErika.com and follow her on Instagram .
