New York-based queer alternative pop artist Denitia releases her new single “Where You Go“, the second release from her upcoming album Touch Of The Sky.
“Where You Go” is an upbeat alt-pop track that showcases Denitia’s expert production skills and her impressive sleek vocal range. The track is about undying devotion and wanting to be dedicated to a lover after a life of dodging commitments. Denitia explains, “It ends with this outro that ruminates on dreams and love. Because the world sometimes can be scary for a queer black person, dreams actually become a necessity for survival.”
“Where You Go” follows the release of “Waves“, that received placement on official Spotify “Indie Stage” playlist and Shazam’s official “The Best New Music” playlist on Apple Music. “Waves” also caught attention from Refinery 29who placed it on their “New Music To Know This Week” round-up.
Touch of the Sky is a fusion of the country music influences from Denitia’s youth and her signature electronic pop sound. Listeners might hear hints of dream-pop and ambient electronica reflecting the guiding inspiration of ethereal acts like Beach House and Cocteau Twins. The album is a reflection on identity, love, youth, and self-evolution anchored in wide sonic soundscapes composed of layered vocals, dreamy synths, and reverbed guitars
“It’s a reflective project, it’s me coming up for air and wanting even more of what’s out there: a Touch of the Sky.”
