We got Candy Bleakz to weigh in on a few thing regarding the journey to “Better Days”

Could you tell us about the inspiration behind your latest EP, “Better Days”?

Better Days isn’t about happiness or sadness; it’s about resilience. It’s me saying don’t wait for others because you can do it. Create your own miracles through hard work. Success is the ultimate validation. Keep going; your time to shine is coming.

How does “Better Days” differ from your debut project, “Fire EP”?

Fire EP was about raw energy. The name “Ladies Dragon” reflects that fierce spirit. The red hair color and fiery music matched the vibe. But “Better Days” is more about personal growth and emotions.

What was the creative process like for you while working on this new EP?

I was quite emotional so I wanted to make music people could relate to on a deeper level. Yes, it’s catchy, but I hope the melodies and lyrics resonate with listeners too.

Can you elaborate on the message you aim to convey through the track “Debe” ft. Bloody Civilian?

I had Shaybo on the track initially, but the team couldn’t agree on the direction. Bloody loved the song, so she jumped on it and came with top-notch energy. She’s amazing! Everything worked out exactly how it was supposed to.

“No Worry” has been described as a soul-stirring anthem. What was the inspiration behind its lyrics?

Yeah “No Worry” is about letting go of regrets and finding joy, even in tough times. As long as I can enjoy the moment, that’s all that matters.

How did your collaborations with artists like Simi, DTG, and Bella Shmurda come about?

I texted Simi and told her that I’d wait for her no matter what. I think I waited for about two months. For Bella, I was at his house and I played it for him. He loved it and added his touch. For DTG, a friend from The US connected us.

In what ways has your music evolved since your debut?

My style has evolved drastically. I used to just rap, but now my lyrics, melodies, and overall sound are completely different.

How do you balance infusing indigenous Hip Hop with Afro-Pop and Amapiano in your music?

I’m very intentional about my music. I take my time to perfect each recording until I’m completely satisfied.

What challenges did you face while creating “Better Days”, and how did you overcome them?

I understand that you can’t be happy from January to December. The ups and downs are what make life worth living. Creating the “Better Days” EP helped me process those emotions. It’s about finding balance and appreciating the journey.

What are your hopes for the fans listening to “Better Days”?

I hope they can understand themselves. Everyone goes through challenges. Hard work is the key to overcoming them. Believe in yourself, stay focused, and remember that better days are ahead.
