R&B artist Jay Saint’s hits us with his first full length LP ExCommitted, available on all platforms Tuesday, January 6th. This release comes from years of drawing inspiration after writing for Bad Boy Records and Danity Kane’s number one album, Welcome to the Dollhouse. Writing for Bad Boy Records earned Jay Saint his first major writing chops, allowing him to write every song on his 11-track LP.
While Jay Saint identifies as a gay man and considers himself the openly gay artist R&B needs, ExCommitted navigates themes of love and war in a language that everyone can understand. The album is led by lead single Push Away, an island-infused bop proclaiming the end of a relationship, and the realization that it’s time to share your love with a partner that truly deserves it. This single sets the tone for the sound of ExCommitted. It’s a confident, bass filled vibe with hypnotic harmonies and breakup anthem worthy lyrics.
As you get ready for the release of this artistically painted musical release just know I am torn between “Already Knew” and “Hurt Me Twice” as my favorites.
