VidDay supports the LGBTQIA+ Rainbow Railroad this Pride Month

For Pride month this year, VidDay is getting involved by donating to the Rainbow Railroad. “We’re proud to support this global organization that helps LGTBQ+ people who are facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, and sex characteristics,” says VidDay President Denis Devigne.

“Each time VidDay creators use promo code PRIDE2021 at checkout, VidDay will donate $3 to Rainbow Railroad. We’re also offering free videos for Pride groups or organizations,” he explains.

“People should be able to celebrate love, special occasions and just being who they are, with their loved ones, anytime, anywhere in the world. That ties into our mission, really. With VidDay, you can easily crowdsource video messages and pictures to help make a billion people smile.

“Whether it’s making a virtual Pride parade, rally testimonials, or raising awareness — we are more than happy to offer our platform to help in any way possible. We also welcome and invite any Pride Group to reach out to us at pride@vidday.com – if they’d like to use our services to celebrate Pride in any way. ”

Rainbow Railroad was founded in 2006 by a group of activists and human rights defenders. Since their founding, they’ve helped over 1,600 LGBTQ+ people find safety.

LGBTQ+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. Because of certain governments, LGTBQ+ people living in certain countries may be displaced in their own country and unable to escape without harm.

Rainbow Railroad’s mission is to help individuals escape violence and persecution in their home countries and bring them to a new country where they can live in safety. They have helped LGBTQ+ people located in the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, South & Central America, Africa, Middle East, and South & Central Asia relocate to safer countries. Every year Rainbow Railroad receives over 3,000 requests for help from people whose lives are in danger and every donation helps.
