Weekend Plans? Popcorn and Philo it is!

Philo

This is one of those weekends that I want to be in the house surrounded by my favorite juice, some buttery popcorn, and a good ole iced honey bun. Ha! Can you tell I’m ready for the weekend? As such, here’s a few things I plan to watch Philo and invite you to watch with me as we can discuss on twitter.

Sunday, May 16th, 2021

Butter your popcorn and grab your favorite refreshments because it’s time for a toast! Celebrate the best names in the film and entertainment industry with Leslie Jones. The comedic genius will emcee this year’s event and don’t want to miss it! Catch the MTV Movie & TV Awards Sunday, May 16th at 9/8c.

STARZ’s newest comedy series is a must-watch! Run The World follows the lives of four Black women working, living, and playing in Harlem—all while striving for world domination. These friends are not only surviving – but thriving together. Watch the series premiere Sunday, May 16th at 8:30 pm on STARZ.

This year, Grammy award-winning gospel singer Erica Campbell and award-winning journalist Roland Martin are hosting the Urban One Honors—an annual event that highlights extraordinary change-makers within the Black community. The theme of this year’s award ceremony is “Women Leading the Change,” a celebration of the exemplary accomplishments of African American/Black women in business, health, politics, and media. Watch this special event live Sunday, May 16th at 9/8c on TVOne or its sister network, CLEO TV.

Immediately following the 2021 Urban One Honors, TV One will air part one of a two part special highlighting the final interview of celebrated rap icon, DMX. An Uncensored Special: DMX The Icon will spotlight Ruff Ryders Co-Founder and CEO, Joaquin Dean, and fellow label mates, Styles P and Drag-On, as they provide insight on his impact on music.
