DJ Kris Halo has launched a brand new Album……Hypothetical Lifeforms – a humanising electronic music for people doing other things. It’s An ambient, psychedelic, cinematic experience. Rescue Me, A Sign Of Hope and No Peace are just a few of the bangers that will get your blood pumping.
“Ever since I started recording music in ’97, little ambient pieces were my favorite to put together. I’d arm my minidisc recorder that I’d hooked up to an AM radio and record all the swishes and random voices. It was actually an ambient piece called “A Tiny Space” that landed on a Cleopatra Records compilation in 2000 (Black Sunshine: The Tampa Underground and Beyond). Over the last couple of years, it’s been the ambient listeners that drive most of my personal exposure. “Ghosts In The Keys” has been a top streamer since its release. So, when Kim called me about seeing if I’d do something with some vocals and crystal bowls, I jumped. It’d been two years and it felt right.
I called that first track, Hypothetical Lifeforms, and for the next seven months I just didn’t stop recording. With the exception of “No Peace” and “A Sign of Hope,” all the song titles are named after plot devices from the first season of Altered Carbon. Sometimes I’d feel like I had taken a track as far as I could, but it needed more. So I reached out to friends and colleagues who I thought would be the opposite of that track and I think it really worked. I even got my teenage daughter to write a piece (she definitely likes my music, but I can’t compete with Billie Eilish to her). There were seven different collaborators on this album and I’m proud of every single one.
Generally speaking, the album isn’t intended to be listened to all the way through. I wrote it with the idea that it’d be for people who were doing something else; people who are shopping or studying or need an atmosphere for a video. Passive listeners. The whole album makes sense together, but most likely it’s the YouTuber or study playlist that will dissect everything into pieces to fit in their world”…Dj Halo

Rescue Me is the first single and Music Video from the album. Based on a jam session that was aired live on Facebook with Kim Cameron and touring keyboardist Federico Colloca, the lyrics have a topical reference to current events without tokenizing the subject. Rescue Me exists in two forms on the album: as a playlist friendly edit and then reprised as a full length, extended jam in the denouement portion of the album. The music video was shot in Key West, Islamorada, Miami Beach, and Ft. Lauderdale, and is visually tied to themes from the upcoming, children’s animated film, Seaper Powers: In Search of Bleu Jay’s Treasure, on which Pierce serves as sound designer, music producer/supervisor, and post-production mixer.
KRIS HALO PIERCE (AKA DJ Halo/Haunted Echo) is a multi-award winning, genre-crossing producer and author with placements at MTV, Interscope, ViacomCBS, Sony Creative, Cleopatra Records, Distortion Productions, and TagWizz (Music Mash: Alexa Skills); just to name a few. His sound is often referred to as Balearic Beat and Cinematic Ambient, but he’s best known for his work with the Electro-Pop artist, Kim Cameron, which has been recognized by the Global Music Awards, Latitude Film Awards, the European Independent Film Award, and the Orlando Film Festival, in addition to being remixed by the Grammy Award winning, Bimbo Jones Duo. He stars as Steve the Starfish (in addition to writing original music) in the upcoming children’s animated film, Seaper Powers, and there was also that time he performed on America’s Got Talent (8 million viewers). He’s even worked on Broadway (Gettin’ The Band Back Together). He owns and operates Halo Askew Entertainment (BMI) – a multi-platform, boutique publishing company based in New Jersey.
DJ Halo released numerous albums under the name Haunted Echo. Most notably, singles ShapeTracer and Runaway which received promotional sponsorship and publication by ViacomCBS.
