The Imperial Court of New York will be celebrating 33 years of service to the LGBTQ community with the 34th Annual Night of a Thousand Gowns, a gala event studded with royalty, pageantry and dazzling entertainment.
The Imperial Court of New York, along with their current Monarchs, Emperor XXVIII Antonio T. Ventura and Empress XXXIII Chuleta Devine invite you to their annual coronation ball at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel. This year’s event beneficiaries are the Hetrick Martin Institute and the Hudson Pride Center.
Multi-platinum, International Recording Artist CeCe Peniston will be headlining the event along with Rhode Island Drag Star, Complete Destruction.
CeCe Peniston rose to fame in 1991 when her hit single “Finally” peaked at #1 on the Billboard Top 100, going on to becoming one of the most seminal dance music songs in history. Winning numerous awards by the end of 1993, and scoring five major number one hits within three years, Peniston was named the Number #1 Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play artist in the world.
Peniston has performed for Pop John Paul II at the Vatican and at the legendary recording artist Aretha Franklin’s birthday party. She has also performed for President Bill Clinton and was the first foreign female entertainer to perform in post-apartheid South Africa. Her song “Finally” was used in the popular cult film, “Priscilla Queen of the Desert.” Her kind and warm persona has captured the hear and soul of fans everywhere.
