Did you get your “Good Morning Text?”

Rounding out a breakthrough 2019, highlighted by 1 billion-plus global streams, platinum-certified R&B singer and songwriter Queen Naija revealed the music video for her latest single “Good Morning Text” and the fans went wild.

Directed by John Tashiro [Hitmaka, YNW Melly], the sultry clip brings the song to life through grainy vintage filters as the star lithely dances in the frame. The video adopts Queen Naija’s perspective as it details phases of a hot-and-cold romance before a climactic confrontation with a current beau, played by Dave East. The video premiered on BET Soul and BET Jams earlier today.

Right out of the gate, “Good Morning Text” buzzed with fans and critics alike. It cracked 1 million Spotify streams in a few weeks’ time. Meanwhile, YouKnowIGotSoul promised, “Queen Naija keeps the good vibes coming,” and THISISRNB wrote, “Queen Naija is making waves in R&B and with the release of her new single ‘Good Morning Text’, we can only expect to see them get bigger with time.”

Earlier this month, she took the stage at the Soul Train Music Awards for a rapturous performance of “Good Morning Text.” Billboard lauded it among the “7 Best Moments From The 2019 Soul Train Music Awards.”

Right now, the songstress is preparing her full-length debut and one of the most anticipated R&B offerings of 2020 for release soon.

The 24-year-old Detroit songstress, who began singing in church at age three, has emerged as one of 2018’s biggest breakout R&B stars. Queen and her former husband had found fame online with their popular YouTube channel. When their marriage fell apart last year, she self-released “Medicine,” a song detailing her side of the story. Within three weeks, “Medicine” debuted at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 – a remarkable accomplishment for an unsigned artist. The New York Times singled out “Medicine” as “one of this year’s defining R&B songs,” and it eventually went platinum.

Her self-titled debut EP, Queen Naija, is out now and available HERE for download and streaming via Capitol Records. Between “Medicine,” platinum follow-up single “Karma”and “Bad Boy,” which was produced by NO I.D. (JAY-Z, Kanye West), the collection has clocked over over 800 million combined global streams to date.

In this feature, The FADER proclaimed Queen a “master of the break-up anthem.” YouTube named her as their “Artist on the Rise,” iHeartRadio hailed her as an “Artist On the Verge” and she debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart.
