Design & Muse

ComfiArt presents Design & Muse, an artist exhibit, pop-up shop, and panel discussion at the Auburn Avenue Research Library on August 23, 2019, at 5 pm, featuring five local Atlanta artists: Marryam Moma, Shalon Wright, Thomas Higgins, Tiffany Sy & Yokiana Daniels.

Design and Muse explore the creative process from idea to production. Showcasing five visual artists who used their personal style to create original artwork exclusively for ComfiArt’s product line. Products ranging from t-shirts, socks, coasters, swimwear and more are available for purchase online at www.comfiart.com and in limited quantities in person at Design & Muse on August 23.

This installment of Design & Muse will feature a special pop-up exhibition at the Auburn Avenue Research Library in the second-floor gallery from August 12- 25. Auburn Avenue Research Library is the first library in the Southeast to offer specialized reference and archival collections dedicated to the study and research of African American culture and history and of other peoples of African descent. This exhibition will showcase the original artworks seen on the ComfiArt product line for Design & Muse Series 2. This exhibition is free and open to the public during normal library business hours.

Design and Muse will feature a panel discussion with the artist, light bites and cocktails. Tickets are free, but a $10 donation or more is suggested. A percentage of donations go directly to the participating local artists.

Design and Muse were created by ComfiArt founder Dionna Collins who wanted to highlight the positives of collaboration in the creative industry. “I wanted to show people that collaborations work! Partnerships work! Atlanta is the epicentre of creativity and so many people are doing similar things separately. I wanted to show them how much further we could go together.”
