During Black History Month, Dream In Black

“I want to say thank you to AT&T for having me on their FIRST EVER Future Makers list! Thank you, I mean there so many absolutely incredible people on this list that are doing such incredible things in the community and I’m honored to be even thought of, so thank you!” – Zendaya

During Black History Month, Dream In Black, an always-on platform created by AT&T to celebrate Black culture and the creators who shape it, is proud to honor the Dream In Black 28 Future Makers by unveiling its first-ever Dream in Black 28 list. This list will include 27 creators who have the courage to Dream in Black. In its inaugural year, Dream In Black has collaborated with Queen Latifah to curate a list that pays homage to the past and celebrates the future.

Beginning today, AT&T will reveal the first seven names of influential individuals on the list. The remaining names will be unveiled on the website each Friday in February for a month-long conversation around Black excellence.

In addition to honoring the 27 celebrated leaders, AT&T will recognize one community contestant as the 28thDream In Black 28 Future Maker. From February 1st – 28th, the public will have the opportunity to submit why they are a future maker in their community on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using #DreamInBlack for the chance to join AT&T at one of Black culture’s biggest events in entertainment.

AT&T will also launch a custom emoji keyboard to enhance the consumer text message and social media experience. The keyboard will be updated year-round for continuous engagement with relatable expressions, gestures and symbols.

For many years, AT&T has supported organizations working to increase access to and entrepreneurship skill-building programs for underrepresented youths such as Black Girls Code. This year, as they continue to change the landscape of the technology industry by introducing young women of color to coding and STEM through workshops, hackathons and summer camps, AT&T is proud to donate $50,000 to support Black Girls Code’s programming to prepare and fill the jobs of the future with talent and diversity.

The Dream In Black 28 campaign will come to life on www.att.com/dreaminblack, where each week, new content will be featured from the honorees. Also, follow #DreamInBlack on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to stay updated on social media.
