The Bully The Bull Foundation Hit The Road

The Bully the Bull Foundation

The Bully the Bull Foundation traveled from Memphis to Minneapolis December 17th – 19th to be represented during the NFL’s My Cause, My Cleats campaign. Each year, more than 800 NFL players wear custom-designed cleats during a home game which represent a charitable cause of their choice. This year, Minnesota Vikings’ Pro Bowl tackle Linval Joseph is representing the Bully the Bull Foundation.

The Bully the Bull foundation began in the spring of 2017. Maurice Ballentine, the man behind the organization and the mask, was told by his 15-year-old daughter Young Mbracc that she was being bullied at school due her medical condition. His daughter has juvenile diabetes, requiring 4 to 5 shots daily, and was being labeled as the ‘sick kid’ at school. This led to depression and even suicidal thoughts by his daughter. Maurice knew he had to do something, and from there the Bully the Bull foundation was created.

The trip to Minneapolis featured multiple events all with one common goal in mind: to put an end to bullying. Supported and coordinated by Patrick Bell, Lync LLC CEO and Jameelah “Just Jay” Wilkerson, CEO/Publisher of two of the nation’s top lifestyle and entertainment media outlets, The Hype Magazine and Raynbow Affair Magazine, Bully The Bull Foundation and its programs are finding their way into major arenas and platforms such as the NFL’s “My Cause, My Cleats” campaign among others. Helping to disseminate and promote the news on initiatives championed by Bully The Bull, the rising media mogul has taken a personal hand in the growth and continued success of the program.Saturday, December 15th, a dinner was held in Minneapolis discussing the bully prevention initiative that the Bully the Bull Foundation represents. Multiple prominent figures attended including Gleason Glover of KORU Consulting Group, Bridgette Stewart of KMOJ FM, Dr. Harris, Professor at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.

Sunday, December 16th, the Minnesota Vikings hosted the Miami Dolphins. During pre-game warm-up, Bully the Bull and Linval Joseph, accompanied by attendees of the Saturday dinner, met and discussed the bullying prevention initiative. Linval Joseph proudly displayed Bully The Bull on his cleats during the game, symbolizing a cause he holds close to his heart. “Coming from the Virgin Islands to Florida was a big culture shock, kids used to call us aliens, called us different because we didn’t speak the same language,” states Joseph. “That put me in a shell. At the same time, it helped me become who I am today.” Joseph experienced bullying personally growing up and still experiences forms of bullying to this day; primarily on social media. Joseph hopes that speaking out against bullying will not only help those suffering from bullying overcome it, but he wants to help put an end to bullying altogether, beginning with community programs, events, and supporting the Bully the Bull Foundation.

Bully the Bull attended multiple Twin Cities schools on Monday, December 17th. At each school, Bully the Bull presented his message to the students and discussed the effects of bullying; encouraging those affected to speak up and help deter other students from bullying others.

December 18th, Joseph hosted a toy drive and autograph session from 7 – 9 PM in partnership with the store FAN HQ, located at Eden Prarie Mall. Proceeds will benefit the Bully the Bull Foundation and its supported programs.

Along with the events occurring during the week of the Vikings and Dolphins game, Joseph continued to promote his initiative throughout the Twin Cities and nationally. He visited local schools, hospitals, and also helped launch a text-to-give campaign raising money for WAUHOPE (World Artists United to Help Others Progress Everyday) to help raise funds for victims of bullying.

Lync LLC CEO Patrick Bell won’t stop there, he along with The Hype Magazine will launch Lync 2 the Championship March 2019 in Minnesota all month during “March Madness” kicking off the Final Four. Lync 2 The Championship is a nationwide tour that hosts celebrity basketball games and talent shows, all supporting organizations that have a bullying prevention focus, such as the Bully the Bull Foundation, and more.

Using social media, Joseph continues to spread his word. He recently posted an image of himself showing off his new shirt displaying the quote “REAL PLAYERS DON’T BULLY.” He also posted a short video reaching out to other teammates to help promote the bullying prevention initiative. Other prominent figures support his initiative as well, including Mike Daniels of the Green Bay Packers, Justin Tuck, former New York Giants 2 time Super Bowl winner, and more.
