6a00d8342039be53ef0133f149e81d970b-200wiBabeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…. What is done in the dark will always come to the light. I had a colleague a few years back who came to Atlanta to visit me and told me he had messed with Danny Boy. No Shade, I was mad as hell because I had a crush on Danny Boy since 1992. Nevertheless, I laughed at it. Funny how a singer signed to “Death Row” of all labels would be Down Low….

Fast forward to 2013,  former Death Row Records R&B singer, Danny Boy, opened up about his homosexuality saying “It became too painful to hide. It hurts more to hold it in than to just be who you are… It’s more dangerous to keep it in.” Now, the singer who appeared on Tupac’s “I Ain’t Mad at Cha”, has resurrected on Instagram and lashed out at some disloyal men in the gay community. He posted, “Never should have signed up for this gay s***. N***** is h*es, nobody’s faithful in the gay community. Jak is u h*es house, Instagram and fb is u h*es corner… super sad.” He added, “Wish I could start my life over and forget the n***** I met.”l (1)

Not long ago, the singer felt comfortable to answer some questions on his askfm profile. Although some people asked about personal matters, he did deny rumors that he had relations with Death Row founder, Suge Knight.

What’s your take on Mr. Danny Boys Teas?????

At the young age of 14, Danny entered the music industry as a label mate to some of the most notable icons in Hip Hop and R&B history such as Tupac Shakur & Snoop Dogg. His strong, mature, and soulful voice caught the attention of producers Dr Dre, Dallas Austin, & Grammy Award winner, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds. He also has been featured on songs with various recording artists like Aaron Hall, Mary J. Blige, K-Ci & Jojo, Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and the late LEGENDARY rapper, Tupac Shakur.

It was the hit, soulful, anthem, “I Ain’t Mad At Cha”, featured on Tupac’s multi-platinum album, “All Eyez On Me” in 1996, that made Danny’s voice resonate in the hearts and souls of both young and old, WORLDWIDE! This heartfelt song received enormous acclaim & airplay on both Urban & Top 40 radio stations that continues to this day. Danny Boy followed up with the smash hit “Toss It Up”, featured on Tupac’s “Makaveli” album in 1996, and also performed with him on “Saturday Night Live”. Then, in 1997, he contributed 2 songs, “It’s Over Now”, which was written by Babyface, and “I Can’t Get Enough” to the soundtrack of the Tupac Shakur & Tim Roth movie, “Gridlock’d”. He later went on to record 3 songs for the soundtrack to Eddie Griffin’s stand-up comedy movie, “DysFunKtional Family” in 2003, and with Twista, on one of his best album to date, “Kamikaze”, in the song “Snoopin” in 2004. You can also spot him in various documentaries about Tupac, such as, “Thug Angel” & “Tupac: Resurrection”. But with all that work that spans over a decade, his chance to shine as a solo artist has been just outside his grasp.

Danny has been working on various projects to become known as a COMPLETE ENTERTAINER with unforgettable abilities. He ventured into the theatre to star in such plays as “Love The Hurt Away” and “Woman To Woman” by John Ruffin. And as a songwriter and producer, he is constantly working in the studio to prepare and is preparing for his upcoming album “Love Offering”. Danny’s touring as a background singer found him doing shows with Teena Marie, Norm Connors and Rick James. He also worked with Jazz saxophonist Danny Lerman on the powerful ballad, “You Take My Breath Away” and has performed with him as far away as The Netherlands. Danny was also a contestant on season 4 of American Idol that featured Carrie Underwood & Bo Bice. Although he apparently didn’t win it, it has not deterred him from his goal.

Although you may know him from singing with Tupac and Twista, he has always been singing for the Lord. Raised in the church by his mother and grandmother, they instilled a love for the Lord that is everlasting and unshakeable. The best chapters have yet to be written about this gifted artist. Danny’s main goal is to showcase the gift that God gave him for all to enjoy and to build for a long lasting career.
