In an NBC News exclusive, Amal Clooney sits down with Cynthia McFadden for her first U.S. broadcast network interview.

Clooney, a London-based international law and human rights attorney, is currently lobbying U.S. lawmakers for targeted sanctions on behalf of the former Maldives President who was sentenced to 13 years in prison on a terrorism charge.

The one-on-one conversation will air beginning Thursday, January 14 on “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt,” followed by much more Friday, January 15 on “TODAY.”

Clooney will also join Chuck Todd in studio for a second interview airing Sunday, January 17 on “Meet the Press.”
